That are beautiful pictures, Armando! The pilgrims would look great in the Bible Art and Discussion Group. :)

Okay, I have finished the job, it's in my gallery, you're invited to have a look. :DD

Armando Salas 26 Jul 2008

Good morning from Spain.

Thinking of a dear lady, artist and friend. Get well soon, Reba!

Armando Salas 26 Jul 2008

Smoking on the floor, Maricarmen :-)

Armando Salas 26 Jul 2008

Thank you, Jerie. You're TREMENDOUS artist yourself. Sorry you don't post often to enjoy so masterful art.

Yes, I always was a cat lover. Every time I drinK a beer I invite my kitty also :-)))

Armando Salas 26 Jul 2008

I already commented on your portfolio, Anneke :-)

Olga van Dijk 26 Jul 2008

Ahhhh JERIE, What a nice girl she is..... We are attending the same art studio group, and she is one of my students at the university, where she takes my advanced collage/painting class!

And YES ARMANDO, I totally agree with you, JERIE Kunitsky is a TREMENDOUS PAINTER herself... She should download more of her wonderful work on AW. She is far too modest about her fine plein air work.

Do I see that little kitty next to the DUTCH BAVARIA Beer????? (Is this a new challenge "Kittens and beer"?) Let her try to drink GROLSCH (she will like it even better!)

I LOVE ANNEKE HUT's WONDERFUL PAINTING in this challenge and of course she's my pick of the day!

Armando, and all of you, have a great weekend~

Love, Light & Peace,

OLGA

People getting up in the USA (I hope). Good morning, sleepers!!! :-)

The true challenge is the one Olga and Anneke started by their own. Seth Weawer wrote: "Great job... this is going to make it HARD for the other 12 artists!".

---I agree and not sure I'll post mine. hehe... :-))) I don't like to play the role of ridiculous guy:-))))

Thank you Olga. I also wish you and all participants a wonderful weekend. Here the sun shines. Meanwhile I'm working on the perfect storm for my new work "Costa da Morte".

Happy weekend!!!!

Thanks Armando, living in beautiful Spain!

Finally the weather here is less hot (Last week we had our third heat wave, which last an other week; we went far over 40C with high humidity. Wow, then my studio in my basement is WONDERFUL & COOL!

I love your new one Armando, the brave women of Costa da Morte.. the westernmost stretch of Spain's north shore (which means rain....) What an evocative name for a remote and dangerous coast.

What a contrast from the white-sand beaches of the the Costa del Sol, celebrating the sun; and the Costa de la Luz, (extolling light) I've still in mind.

As your other challenge, the women are directly involved in the industry, selling the day's catch and other sea-related jobs. What an inspirational women! You make the glow, Armando!

BRAVO, you're kinda Ambassador of Spain at ArtWanted!

Hello Armando. First of all I’d like to thank you for you wonderful idea. I’ve taken challenge and although your sketch about fishermen isn’t your challenge I wanted to do my version in my abstract way. I tried to capture the emotions and feelings you conveyed in your sketch, I don’t know if I managed or not … judge yourself. Thanks again. You have made my creative day more interesting and brighter.

Armando Salas 27 Jul 2008

Suddenly... Izabella! :-)))

You're the artist #14 involved in my world.

Amazing how you "translated" my sketcht into your unique style. Thank you for sharing your art with us.

Izabella Pavlushko 27 Jul 2008

Just want to be precise. My sketch was done on the base of your sketch about the fishermen at Costa da Morte. It wasn't your challenge. It's just my initiative.

Armando Salas 27 Jul 2008

Hi, Izabella. I thought yours was a new version of my Peixeiras. Then I read you again and changed my comment.

But something didn't totally agree in my mind. As I see you drawing again... Do you notice your shapes and composition are valid for both sketches?

I did both drawings as part of a THEMATIC SERIES but TWO ISOLATED drawings. Your work established the well known link: the brave women are the ones selling the day's catch. Perhaps I perceived it in a subliminal way because I suddenly got the idea and "saw" the image in my mind. I didn't change anything: the placement of human forms, the boat... all.

Perhaps this could be a work for a psychologist. What do you think? :-)))

Izabella Pavlushko 27 Jul 2008

Absolutely right, Armando, there‘s something similar in my sketch from your both drawings. Now I can see it too. The fact is that first I wanted to do drawing on the base of your Peixeiras. But then I changed my mind as I didn’t have enough time and decided to do on the base of your fishmen at Costa da Morte. I think I felt deeply both your drawings That’s why you thought my work was a new version of your Peixeiras.

Olga van Dijk 27 Jul 2008

Dear Izabella,

What an awesome design and great way to express the brave woman in both pictures. I am very much drawn to the subject of “the brave women of Costa da Morte” and I think you did such an excellent job, to to make it your own by expressing your feelings in your unique style~ !

You're just a great artist! I hope you'll download it at Artwanted web-site too!

Love and Light~OLGA
