I did upload 3 images and it does work

1) I see no edit option, so if you forget to click lets say "large download" you need to delete and resubmit

2) Downloads to a large picture in browser which is fine, then the right click prevents saving file. I can easily avoid that but not everyone will know how.

I would assume if you allow large download you want to let people save image... or no?

3) A sell option could be provided for downloads so download could only take place with a pay for option,

Just curious

Lets say some of these persons who are eager to show their work on nudes, upload to private and publish keyword here so those who want to view them can, would you find that objectionable.. I would assume not.

FYI

If you are not logged in and try the URL to a private page as you might from a search page, it asks you to login to private library, so that base is well covered by the code.

Again, nice feature, but there seem to be a few bugs: I uploaded a several-MB image, and allowed download of same, but all that gets downloaded or displayed, is a low res image in all cases...If a high-res image is displayed, it usually will not fit on a screen necesarily, but will need to be scrolled....that does not happen.... another symptom that you are somehow converting everything to lo-res.....also, the downloaded "hi-res" image is always less than 100k, no matter how large the uploaded file is.... BTW there is no "download" button that appears...its all right-mouse..... should a "download" button appear...?? Has the function been thoroughly test...??? thanks in any case....

I love the new private gallery feature. Thank you for thinking of it and implementing it.

I agree it would be nice to be able to sell prints of images not allowed on the main AW site using this new facility. I realise that one can have a different password for each category but it would also be nice to be able to have sub-galleries as on the main site so that if for example I wanted to put all my images up for family and friends, including copies, I could still put them into gallery categories within each general passworded area. Another example would be eg holiday pics, we tend to tour so I could use subgalleries per area visited - I think too many passwords could easily become confusing. Could one possibly have a sort of master password a bit like a master key, so that some could access the lot without having to know each individual passcode? Thanks and regards

What a wonderful concept! This certainly comes in handy. It's a great solution. Thank you so much!

Thanks for your positive feedback and suggestions on how to make private galleries even better. We are sure that as they are used, additional ideas on how they can be improved will come. Keep posting them here, and we will review your suggestions and consider them for future upgrades to the private gallery feature.

To answer a few questions above, private gallery images are not part of our normal public image database, so there are many features that you may be used to that are not available for private images. There are some features that are left off on purpose and others that will be built over time.

We do plan to add the 'edit image' feature in the next week to private images. Image 'comments' are something that were not planned for private images, but this may change in the future. You can't currently order prints from the private images, but this too is something we would like to build in the near future.

Private images do require passwords to view, so search engines like Google will not be able to pick up these images.

If you select the 'high-resolution' download option, you will still see the low-res version when you first click on the image. At the bottom of the image, you will see a link to view the entire high-resolution file. If you do not select this option when uploading, we delete the original high-resolution image you upload, so you are not able to go back and allow the high-resolution download after you have posted the image. You would need to delete and re-upload the image again.

We think this answers the questions that have been posted above, but if there are any others we missed, please post them again, thanks.

The Private Gallery almost makes me want to become a paying member again - if the GDB ever returns I just might!

How much space is each person allowed?

Hey, put the pants back on that Portfolio! =]

AW STAFF: At this time, there is not a space limit put on the private portfolios. This may change depending on how they are used, but at this time we don't have any limits.

Great concept.

AW staff:

Is there a way to designate my already-uploaded images as private, so I can avoid having to re-upload multiple works (and losing their comments/statistics)?

I would greatly appreciate this feature, as I have maybe 100 works I'd like to make "private," but there's no way I'm going to re-upload every single one manually into the private section.

There is not currently a way to 'convert' a public image to a private image at this time. You will need to reupload them into your private gallery and delete them from your public gallery.

Having just uploaded some images to the private gallery, I have a couple of suggestions.

Could you please insert a box for email addresses to be entered eg if someone wants to buy an image - original or print, if I can put in my email address without having to enter it everytime I upload, that would be a good time-saver and at the same, allow would-be buyers to email me.

Second, anyone who wants regular viewers to see their private galleries can do what I've done which is put the codes in my biography area, so now I have 'Anatomy'; 'Copies'; Sketches-Studies'; non of these are so much private as more items either out of AW rules or not really suitable for prints on the main area.

Thanks and regards
