heehee I hear ya, but YOU can do it, try using the oppasity at a lower setting then paint as if in layers, I think that would work with your style :)

DebraAnn Kasimakis 17 May 2007

So...That was the image....

I don't know where it went?

I was able to save it

even if AW was not.

Kind of cool...Not quite photoshop but this could help people get familiar with doing true digital drawings and paintings.

Renate Dartois 17 May 2007

Oh--I did it...

Kukua Akumanyi 17 May 2007

this is soo much fun! I just tried it and it great to practice with as a a pen and paper girl myself.

Renate Dartois 17 May 2007

Well I did a second one but the save button obviously malfuntioned because it gave all the Id information but it never showed up in the gallery.

Pat 'Gracie' Merewether 17 May 2007

I guess I'm spoiled - Photoshop CS2 is what I use.

I only see one 2 pictures - and one is a scree shot - what am I missing?

Barbara Kaplowitz 17 May 2007

I agree with over the garden wall... Regardless of what extra "resources" you used to make this weird little sketch thing, don't you think you should've used the very same resources for all the issues and suggestions we've had in the past that seem to never get worked on?

If you're trying to appeal to children, which is nice and all, why not just start a kids art site seperate from this one, but affiliated, like prints and aceos are, etc? I already have to pick through a bunch of crap to find truly talented people on AW as it is... now, you're adding this juvenile form of art... why?

I've had this "fun" drawing tool since computers were created... It's called "Paint". What is Art Wanted's official agenda on here? We can't have nudes, or anything that might "offend" anyone, and now you don't even need talent...

It just seems like a waste of many things to me... don't we already create colorful online artwork without this feature?

Judy Minderman 17 May 2007

Yes there are other serious issues to address but what is wrong with a little fun? If artists can't have fun then what is the point? I think it is enjoyable :) I did a very easy sketch but I saw a few that were quite good. Saw yours Patricia, way cool! As far as the mouse being a challenge lol, all my digital art is done with only a mouse lol. Good practise anyway :)

Roy Boobyer 18 May 2007

Lots of doodles! But some nice stuff. I like it! Good fun!

Dominic Melfi 18 May 2007

It really is so limited that for most artists it will just create frustration. Cant see who here could feel that they could create a piece they would want to show with this tool.

Keep in mind that this is a 'sketch pad', not Photoshop. It was not designed for people to sit down at for 2 weeks and create something that will be hung in a gallery. It's a fun way to doodle online when you have some extra time.

We are well aware that every feature on our site will not appeal to every single member in the same way. If the sketch pad is not something you like, then simply don't go to it. Enjoy all the other features of ArtWanted.com. For those that want to have a little fun sketching, we invite you to see what you can come up with.

Terry Harris 18 May 2007

I enjoyed the Sketch pad, a nice little fun way to play. I know this will going to be popular and enjoyed seeing all the work already up in the gallery. Just goes to show that even a simple little art program can provide some great results. I also think that this is going to inspire many young artists. It's a great way to share with a young family member.

Watch for accidental brush strokes when choosing a new color, just hit undo if you get the new color on our work. Enjoyed playing with the transparency feature.

This site is for all artist, and in hopes of inspiring new artist to create. I see this as a very positive and welcomed feature.

For those that have never painted on something like this sketch pad, and find you enjoyed working with it, you might want to take the next leap to using electronic sketch pads with wireless stylus pens. Most will come with software and you can enjoy discovering the no mess, no drying time, multimedium mixes you can use together that you could not do tradionally.

Anneke Hut 18 May 2007

Great feature, it's fun to play with. Thank you AW!

Pat 'Gracie' Merewether 18 May 2007

I think it was a nice idea and might lead to more folks becomming familiar and comfy wit digital art.

AW must feel they are damned if they do and damned if they don't lately.

Gayla Drummond 18 May 2007

Not my thing, but I'm sure my little girl will enjoy it.

I liked the idea about creating a children's only website for art some above had. That would be awesome.

Charles Oliver 18 May 2007

Yes Gayla that really would be awesome. I might enjoy that more than what I see most of us adults turning out lol.

Gerald Dextraze 20 May 2007

I don't want to be rude but I realy don't think this can be of any use for us artists.

Anita Montalvo 20 May 2007

GREAT IDEA FOR THE CHILDREN, AND US ADULTS, TOO...
