Excellent idea - can't wait for this.

Now I'm confused. I thought you guys were talking about printing on a seperate card stock, the possibility of printing two sided, etc. That's not what this site is for?

Great Idea! I like the whole idea about it. Now theres more ways to promote art. And I just joined the site! Thank you.

AW Please help me understand this a little better.

(Who does the shipping/fulfillment when an order is purchased?

Generally, you will be mailing out the cards when you get an order, because you have them.

However, if you want us to create art cards from your digital files, you will have the option for us to ship them to you, or for us to store. If we have your cards, then we will do the shipping/fulfillment when an order is received. You will still be notified of the sale, but we will take care of everything. There is a small $.50 fee per card we charge when we do the fulfillment. )

(We do have a print service that you can use to order the prints of your cards, but this will not be up and running until Monday. After this, you can select which cards you want to order and then we can post them on the site.)

.....I understand that you will have this service up and working on Monday.

Forgive me if I am little confused. I am trying to figure this out. I have Questions about the However part. I would like to know how this is will work.

If this is the Option that I choose to use,

Do I order and pay in advance for the cards that you are storing and shipping out?

How many cards do I need to order of each image? What is the cost of printing the card?

Do I have the option to have the back printed using this option?

I now have a zillion questions and I don't want to be a pest.

I need more info to decide how to do this.

Jude!

Does this apply only to art cards or can we also sell signed printed greeting cards of our artwork?

What is the formula for art cards, size finish ect?

Thanks for the questions. Being a new site, we expect to have a bunch of questions, let us try and explain it a bit better...

Due to the costs of creating only one card at a time, and our minimum $5 requirement from our printer, a print-on-demand service for the ArtCardsWanted.com site is not possible. This means that when you post a card for sale on the site, you must already have that card in your possession, so that you can ship it out at the time it is ordered. This can be an original card you created or prints that you had previously ordered/created.

If you don't have any art cards yet, you can order art card prints using our ACEO print service (which will be up and running on Monday). With this service, you upload a high-resolution image and purchase a group of cards. These cards are then mailed back to you. Normally you will sign and number the cards at that point. Once you have them in your hands, you can then post the card for sale on the ArtCardsWanted.com website. To clarify once more, you will need to pre-purchase the cards before you list them on the site.

Another option is for you to order the prints and have them stored at our location. When you do this, we keep the cards and mail them out when they are ordered off the site. We charge a $.50 cent fee to mail out the cards for you when we do the fulfillment.

The details on the pricing, quantity and printing options for the ArtCardsWanted.com print service will be all available on or before Monday on the site.

All the cards on the ArtCardsWanted.com website must be 2.5" x 3.5" in size, so greeting cards or any other size of prints can not be posted/sold on that site. However, you are welcome and encouraged to post them on your ArtWanted.com site.

Hopefully this explains the concept a bit more to everyone, but if you still have questions, just let us know.

The idea of ART TRADING CARDS is that they are STANDARD TRADING CARD SIZE... 2 1/2" X 3 1/2".........................

The idea was to ONLY TRADE....Purists don't think any of these ATC should be SOLD. I say, poo poo to that....

However, what I don't understand is, if the card is a ONE OF A KIND, original, you can't SELL it? Why not? You can get more money for a ONE OF A KIND, than a print.

Just curious............................

jessica torrant 02 Mar 2006

DebraAnn, on the site, when you go to list an ACEO you can select if it is an original, limited edition or open edition print. Hope that helps! :)

joan warburton 02 Mar 2006

Thanks for the explanation AW. I was so confused. I'm going to take everything down and start again.

I joined the ACEO site today and I got a error message in my enroling form. It doesn't say what the error is, but I have found that I can't log on?

So if I try again, will I get the message that tells me I can't use that email address, because it is already being used?

Susana De Leon 04 Mar 2006

Very nice...I will join.

jennifer blenkinsopp 04 Mar 2006

There are a few placing prints in the original section, this section is only for works done on this small card.-------------- not for prints of larger works, these go in either limited edition or open edition prints.---------Steph keep trying, it took me ages to get in , just send aw the error report and they will fix it.

Michael Germann 04 Mar 2006

jennifer blenkinsopp 05 Mar 2006

Agree michael with the pages, although there are different catagorys to separate,--- could do with more art per page, great site though.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that you can now order ACEO prints from the ArtCardsWanted.com website. This service is open to everyone, not just premium members, so we invite you to give it a try.

Just click on the 'Order ACEO Prints' from the ArtCardsWanted.com members area and you can select the package and options that you want for your mini-prints. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Kristen Fox 06 Mar 2006

The recommended file size might be better somewhere in an easy-to-find faq or something - I only found it by clicking on one of the types of cards I could order (and I'm not ready to order them yet) - Just a thought.

Also, when you say that you want to approve a proof before printing, is it a digital proof or physical proof you snail mail us?

Thanks, :-) Kristen
