I did not see any ...........But by the coolness of this day i would almost bet we had frost lastnight. It is very cold here today. I'm actually thinking of turning on the heat. I do hope it is warm in your part of the world. Have a good one Folks

RQ Trietsch 20 Sep 2012

Still warm here Martha. We were supposedly on a cooling trend...94??? Still doing the roller coaster ride here. But at least the evening are cooling down nicely.

Martha Miller 10 Oct 2012

Ok now i can say we are in the Autumn Season for sure. The last two nights we have had frost, The temp as i write this is 46 degrees....I was looking at the Temps Up and down the east coast. It is only 71 degrees in Anderson,South Carolina. It's suppose to go down in the 40's over night.I Have brought my house plants in the house ,and none to soon. Our day tomorrow will be a carbon copy of today. Enjoy the wonderful fall days as much as you can. We will be in the white stuff before we know it.

RQ Trietsch 11 Oct 2012

We will be having a sneak peak of it for a couple of days here also. But come the weekend and next week, back up to the mid to high 80's. So Cal version of fall.

Had a visitor yesterday morning. Something caught my eye as I was taking out the trash. These aren't uncommon but rarely seen around here. Sorry for the picture, was holding the camera high and got a lot of "shake". Still missing my telephoto lens and SLR. The neighbors house has been vacant for a year plus and sure looks like sh t!

Here it is Oct 12,2012 The snow i was talking about two days ago ..........i really did'nt expect to see today... But i did folks......The first snowflakes of of winter . Granted it was not a lot ..........but it was the first snow none-the-less. Now this is not saying we won't be butt deep come morning. I'm afraid this is going to be the year for snowfall. we have skitted through the last two years. enjoy your days. temp today...... The high 40

Martha Miller 17 Oct 2012

A bright day here in the Northeast.................Cold but the sun is shining brightly. The Temp right now is only 51 but it is suppose to reach 63.

The rest of my bulbs have arrived ........so it looks like I will be planting today. I should have a beautiful garden for photos next year. I have a box of just tulips and another box of assorted flower bulbs. So you know what i will be doing ....

I hope your day will be as productive as mine. enjoy your day folks....

I must have done something wrong years ago when I planted my Tulips....they never happened. Could have something to do with my rotten, decomposed granite soil. It's pretty bad when one has to use a jack hammer to dig a hole here. Well, we're finally getting our cooling trend. 78-82, partly cloudy and a chance of rain next week :((

Martha Miller 20 Oct 2012

once you break it apart RQ mix wood chips and peat, moss in it..As far as your tulips go. It just might be to hot for them out there.I could be wrong. but that would be my guess even though a tulip is a hardy plant for years and years once in the ground.

just q little note to let you a;ll know i'm waitinfor the perfect storm to hit New York. As luck would have it I'm in the worst part of the storm area. They are predicting 75 miles per hour winds. Having said that, this might be the last post, So if this happens, think nice things of me.LOL

RQ Trietsch 29 Oct 2012

Batten down the hatches Martha. The forecasters say you guys are really going to get hammered. Us on the other side are just having a run of small earthquakes as of late. No biggy. Weather has been a up and down 70 to 80's with most of the weeks forecast in the 70's.

Martha Miller 29 Oct 2012

The pounding rain and very strong wind has arrived. It has been raining now for about two hours. The Temp has dropped. I'm still wondering if we will have all rain or if it will change overnight. At the rate the rain is coming down ,if it turns to snow we will need some cerious digging out come morning.

RQ Trietsch 01 Nov 2012

Hope your doing OK back there Martha. My nephew in the Pittsburgh area said they were also getting the heavy rains, but that was a couple of days ago.

Martha Miller 01 Nov 2012

I feel quite bad, the storm only dumped water and i will say lots of water on us here, Unlike some of the folks out there. My heart goes out to them. We are still getting a lot of rain ....but it does not compare to the Folks that have lost their homes and all that was dear to them. I know that most of what they have lost can be replaced....... But the personal life mementoes That they have held on for years can not. These things are the dearest to them. We also need to say a prayer for those that have lost their lives along the Hurricanes path. God Bless them and America,,,,,

Well The big day is finally here. I do hope evreryone is planing on doing their part. I'm going shortly. The day is a beauty here in the Northeast........I'm going to look at it as a good omen.................That Things are about to change for the better. So if you have not voted yet please make a point to do so.

Martha Miller 21 Nov 2012

I can't believe this weather. it is 52 degrees here. The second beautiful day in a row. I think it was warm and lovely last year for Thanksgiving......... I'm enjoying it all while I can. Here in the finger Lakes area You can not count on anything. ,Enjoy your day my friends as i'm enjoying mine.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

RQ Trietsch 29 Nov 2012

Belated turkey day to all. Ours went very well and hoping yours did also.

Fall and X-mas attitude has arrived in So Cal. Wet today and forecast calls for a couple more days of precipitation..Not a fan of this time of year, but I go along with it to let others enjoy it. So it's stay away from any of the shopping venues, (to protect the rude people from me), except the grocery store and gas stations.

Martha Miller 29 Dec 2012

Well I hope everyone came through Christmas ok. Here In the Northeast we are getting SNOW. It started before Christmas and it will still be going strong until next week.....Wednesday. At a time like this I think of the Thousands of People that are trying to survive on the streets. I'm very thankful I have a warm and safe bed to place my head when night falls. It is hard for me to imanage having to try to find shelter on the streets. Getting warm is just part of the problem. just trying to stay safe is another. I pray for these souls at this time of year for safety ,warmth and food .

The temp is 28 degrees......

RQ Trietsch 30 Dec 2012

I couldn't agree with you more Martha. The way these last two years have played out, I'm especially fortunate to have a roof over our heads. I'm still trying to accept the present situation (manipulation of step-mother) that created the trying predicament.

So onward to better thoughts...So Cal has been getting on and off rain, with the hillsides and mountains getting snow and occasional dusting. Been staying in the 50's for a high, and lows in 30's

Martha Miller 30 Dec 2012

Just ro keep you posted. The snow is still falling Much lighter now than the last few days. I'm guessing that we have gotten around two feet on the ground. The radio says to batten down the hatches because another one in on the way. I knew this winter was going to be a doozy. we have skitted through the last two winters, warm tempts and flowers blooming early. Not this one......We will all be praying for it to leave before it's done. All we can do is be thankful for what we have.......say a prayer for those with so much less... Temp right now...... 24 degrees

Martha Miller 02 Jan 2013

Well here it is wednesday evening 8:36 ....10degrees, and still snowing. You can ask any New Yorker how much snow they have....you will get from 1 to four feet.....depending on where they live. I'm afraid this is going to be a rather long winter. Time will tell. And you know i will keep you all posted. Happy New Year and Hugsssss
