Just started to apply liquid watercolors to 24 comic pages previously inked. I'll do it bit to bit, to be able to send them to my publisher at the end of this month.
But I continue with my colored pencils.
Sketching for my next work: "Leiteiras"

I used it to enlarge my "Leiteiras" sketch to the desired size.
Wonderful software!
Now I'm tempted to show you a couple of folklore from the Netherlands.
I'll start with NELLY VAN NIEUWENHUIJZEN's area, which is the South West of Holland, the province of ZEELAND. She's a well known artist in Holland. And we're proud to have her here at Artwanted too!
Check the image by clicking on it so you'll see a larger image.
The LEITEIRAS' outfit isn't folklore. These were the REAL clothes I remember from my childhood. As a matter of fact there are not leiteiras in our folklore. MUIÑEIRAS (grinders), yes. MUIÑEIRA is also the name of popular Galician songs and music.
But the ZOCAS or ZOCOS (ZUECAS or ZUECOS in Spanish; SABOTS in English) were the "shoes" all farmers used in the past (children also). I remember all my cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents used them on a daily basis. People was VERY POOR in Spain after our Civil War. Farmers cannot buy shoes because they were expensive. Usually, the ZOCAS were made of simple wood by ZOQUEIROS. Sometimes, the ZOCAS had decorations and they were more expensive but less than shoes.
The farmers women used to dress up this way. Nowadays it's folklore.
And who's visiting us in the Netherlands????
I was also thinking how much the Leiteiras looked the same as the women over here. :)
No worries Armando..:-)
Valdoviño beach will be a while yet.. I have 13 large oils on canvas to complete before 2nd week of October, in addition to the three I'm working on at present. Then an exhibition and a break from the studio in November...:-)
Next step: those photos we took in Paris. (The jacuzzi, do you remember?)
:-)))
I still am a busy bee. I wasn't here all morning long. When I came back home I drew/ sent my two daily strips for tomorrow. After that I was working on my comic pages (color) and just finished my sketch for LEITEIRAS. I think this new work will be precious. Hopefully tomorrow I'll start the color phase. Wish me luck:-)
:-)
