Holy Cow!!! That is scarey as heck. I was surprised, that the dog on the beach, didnt go flying like a kite! And I cant believe those 2 idiots standing there, till the waves almost get them! Im sure that was no fun, that storm! Thanks for sharing, Armando!

Just got a call from the the area around Frankfurt. The region there and south west of it has a storm brewing. Right now the winds are up to 70km per hour and will increase. Roofs are flying, trees are breaking and in one area the police is sending everyone inside! Here in Nürnberg, winds have started.....but moderate 38 km per hr...just uncomfy to walk in. I just saw, besides the mid-west, the alps are also getting hit. Im going to go cuddle under a blanket, and let Buschi look for a nesting place! Later! xox

Just came back from El Val. No damages at home nor trees luckily. Few branches on the road only. Minerva and all kitties are O.K. :-)

Two names: CICLOGÉNESIS EXPLOSIVA and CICLOGÉNESIS ESPONTÁNEA. The first one is the most used lately. Not sure but I think this monster doesn't have EYE as hurricanes; it's totally compact. We can know their existence 2-3 days before and also the time to EXPLODE. Nothing is strange before, no wind, nothing... and suddenly... Apocalypse. On January 2009, 6:00 P.M.: nothing. 6:01 I heard the strong wind and broken things outside.

So glad to hear the kittens are ok and that there was no damage at El Val! Here the winds are between 26 and 30 km. Noisey, but nothing to worry about, but a couple of broken branches and old roofs. Our local rivers are rising big time. But they flood the valley...........no harm for people, just a few cellars. I didnt know about France. Ill have to try to reach Stefi, to see if she is ok.

Just got this from Bernie:

Hi folks, the storm is now here. I could not even come to my workshop because it was too dangerous. What I saw on the highway: fallen trees, horses, pigs, cows, mobile toilets, RV's (aside) etc. Styrofoam plates flying 100s of meters high in the air like stange butterflies. The waves on the Rhine river were like ocean waves. No ship traffic. No airport traffic. Several highways closed. Normal overland roads closed almost all. Police warns not to go into forests. Storm broke windows at Frankfurt airport railroad station/station closed. See, what picture I made just a few minutes ago in the attachment. It is taken right out of my window. In the left foreground there is a little corner of my garden. The storm will reach Trixi's place in about 2 hours. I am home safely, pooh! Hugs, Bernie

So sorry to hear those news!. I got an e-mail and atachment from Bernie but I cannot read/see them since looks like Hotmail doesn't work.

I don't know if Xynthia is losing power but be careful, Trixi. Close your doors and windows and don't go outside if you can avoid it. Any news about Stefani? Please let me know if you can.

Take care, sweetie, and be safe.

Bernie is Bernhard Müller/Adrian Bayreuther!

Thanks for the concerne!!! For sure Ill be inside the rest to the day. Windows are closed and all is secure on the balcony. If it gets worse, Ill let down the heavy wooden shades, and then Im safe as in a tank! I didnt reach Stefi, but I did reach her son. He said all is well at his end, and mom had not called him. I saw her in the morning on Skype, so I know she is alive!!! Not sure Ill be able to reach her today, if she is visiting with friends, but if I do, Ill let you know! Shoot Armand! Ofcourse I wont go out with this wind! My hairdo would get all messed up ;-))))

Armando... thanks for putting in the videos.. they were all pretty interesting and demonstrate the crazy risks people take at times.. Good to hear everything's OK at home!

Keep safe Trixi.. looks like Europe is taking quite a hammering.

Minerva.. I too hope it doesn't hit the UK.. I have family in Plymouth, Bristol and Bournemouth.. I had to laugh at that crazy guy windsurfing.. you have to wonder what the hell he was thinking.

Nelly... lol... it's our seeeeeekrit..:-)

Sad to hear of the loss of life..

Beatrix Jahn 28 Feb 2010
