It sounds like nasty weather all over the world. As promised an update for you on my weather. The car with all the snow is my car. The other is my daughter in laws car. ....I do pray this is the end of this nonsense. I have had enough.

My son says there is onlt 18 inches here .But he had to plow over 5 feet from his driveway this morning.

Since we still are brave enough to smile, these are my editorial strips for tomorrow.

The flying object is a "Monteira" (Typical Galician hat - Folk)

Armando Salas 26 Feb 2010

The second one.

Translation: "Comic strip devastated by the wind"

Not sure the newspaper will pay for it :-))))

Since Galician people have Celtic roots...

Video: "MUIÑEIRA DE CHANTADA" performed by famous Galician bagpiper Carlos Núñez & The Chieftains. I'm sure you'll enjoy these amazing musicians.

5 feet is a lot of snow Martha.. that's the sort of snowfall I'd expect half way up a mountain..

Have you added up the total of all the snow you've had this winter??

rebecca phillips 26 Feb 2010

Calvin MacFarlane of AW sent me this comic today...thought it appropriate for this thread

That's looking bad Armando.. very high winds and torrential rain = damage to buildings and trees, power outages and likely some flooding.

Follow Minerva's advice and keep a low profile until it passes. Thinking of you buddy..

Armando Salas 26 Feb 2010

Thank you, Terry.

Armando, I live on a barrier reef island in the Mid-atlantic USA. We are hit quite often by hurricaines. Some things i try to do....stock up on canned goods, keep candles, matches, and plenty of flashlight batteries, and for certain plenty of bottled water. i also fill the tank of my car with gas and get the oil and tires checked before a major storm hit. Since i am a pet owner I also stock for my pet, and have prepared and emergency evacuation pack for my pets and myself. this of course also includes any medications we need. Oh, I also keep a battery operated radio with me for these storms. in my car i keep fresh bottled water and blankets. Just in case we would have to evacuate. Better to be prepared and not need to be, than be unprepared and end up a victim of the wind and water.
