I received prints today to try out the program. The shipping was quick and they came safely packaged. The prints however are too green tinted, something that didn't happen on three different printers I've tried with the same file. And I don't like how they look on photo paper. I will try again if you ever start printing on art paper. Thanks and good luck with this program. I'm going to keep an eye on it.

The day has finally come where you can enter your own prices for the ArtWanted.com print program. This new feature will let you set your own print pricing, exclude certain types of paper finishes and earn a higher commission on higher priced prints. Here are the details...

1) CUSTOM PRINT PRICING

We now offer the ability for you to set the price you want to sell your prints for on our site. In order to manage your custom pricing, we have created 'custom pricing groups'. The first step is to create a custom pricing group, then you enter the prices you want to sell the prints for and the last step is to assign a pricing group to a one or more images in your portfolio.

This may sound confusing at first, but once you see how it works, it's quite simple. We created pricing groups for many reasons. The biggest reason is so you don't have to change the prices of dozens of images to the exact same amount. Another reason was once you make a price change it can filter down to multiple images instantly. You can also use these groups to exclude certain paper finishes for all your prints.

Some artists may not have any custom pricing groups, while others may have unique special pricing for each image in their portfolio. We estimate that most artists will have 1-2 pricing groups (ie. Low Priced, High Priced), but there is no limit to how many groups you create.

To start setting up your custom pricing groups, simply go to the Custom Print Pricing page within your members area. From there, just follow the steps to create a group, change prices, then assign these pricing groups to your images.

2) LIMITING FINISH SIZES

ArtWanted.com currently offers 3 paper finishes with our print program: Gloss, Matte & Lustre. If you wish to exclude one or two of these finishes on your artwork, simply change the price to $0 when editing your custom pricing. Any sizes/finishes with a $0 price will not be available on the website for purchase.

3) HIGHER COMMISSION

As we have mentioned on the website and the print agreement, you have the chance to make a higher commission on the prints you sell on ArtWanted.com. This is done by setting the retail price to be at least twice our default suggested price. We realize that some artists charge a much higher amount for their prints, so we take less on these sales. Once the retail amount reaches twice our default price, then the artist will make 75% of the sale price, instead of the default 50% (after the base price is paid).

4) CUSTOM PRICE TESTING

We encourage you to setup custom pricing for your prints and let us know your feedback. Our staff has tested all of the pages and functions, but it was a large change to our print program and there might be a bug or two hiding somewhere. Let us know how we might improve the process for you as well.

5) PRINT PROGRAM SUMMARY
