I remember my art teacher always saying "candace think of where the light source is coming from" and we had to do all thse light and shade drawings using certain items and a strong amount of light.

Remembering back to that, from where you say the sun should be it seems to me that you have got the right idea. It looks shadded correctly to me :)

Here is a large scale pencil drawing I did a while ago but I never really got anyones opinion on it. The sun is cut out (top left) but does the lighting look alright? What do you think?
