Every day we remove a few images that are posted by those that choose to ignore the rules they have agreed to. Scott's images were no exception and were clearly nudes, which are against our image policy. If an image is removed from a portfolio, because it breaks our rules...this same image will also be removed from the message boards.
Scott is a very talented artist and we hope he sticks around. We have nothing agaist any artist that posts an image that does not comply with our rules. We don't want them to leave our site or remove their portfolio. We simply want them to understand that we do have guidelines for this site. Most people that post images that get removed, simply didn't read the rules and we never have an issue with them again.
The truth is, no one likes to be censored, we are well aware of this. However, because people choose to ignore our site rules or flame other members with words, we have to step in and censor both images and comments that are posted on our site.
Those that hate censorship, change their mind very quickly as soon as another member starts publicly offending them with comments or message board posts. They quickly want to know why we don't have MORE censorship and demand that the person be silenced. The attitude changes depending if the person is the victim or offender.
We truly wish we never had to moderate a thing on ArtWanted.com. We would have much more time to improve the site, if we didn't have to scan the images and message boards each day for those that choose to ignore our rules. If everyone would just play by the rules, ArtWanted.com would never step in and we would get so much more done to mak the site better. We would love to someday reach that point. We need everyones help to get there.
I recently had another image removed from AW and posted a new topic here about it. I attached the image to the post for everyone to see that it was even less revealing than the first image I had removed which didn't even show any nudity. I asked if anyone knew of any other sites I could use since I am not able to upload to AW with my artwork. The same night I posted this AW deleted my whole post. Whats up with this? Why would they delete the post. I understand if they removed the image from the post.
This is the e-mail AW sent me.
Scott -

Does anyone know why they did this?
