Original Post: Fractal artists

At the risk of offending anyone, I just have to get something off my chest here.... I hope you know me well enough to understand that I'm giving you my opinion and I'm not pointing fingers at any one person and I won't get upset or like you any less if you disagree with me. Well, I don't know how to sugar coat this, so here it goes:

I'm tired of looking at the same or similar images, colors and designs everyday. Is there a contest going on? Did I miss something? Is there a prize for who can get the most images up in one day?

With the trillions of mathmatical possibilities can't more time be spent on originality? These programs offer some of the most incredible color maps and possibilities of any other programs on the market today, yet so many images have the same colors.

The work doesn't end when you have your design. It's just beginning. What about smoothing the edges, fine tuning the colors, adding depth and shadows, and manipulating that image to come up with something that's truly unique and imaginative? You may wind up with something that looks nothing like your original image but it's "yours" and no one else can duplicate it.

Well, I think you get the idea of what I'm trying to say. Just think about it.... There's so much talent here. Allow yourself to "shine" and not get lost in the numbers. That's my main point, in a nutshell.
