What do you use to take a picture of your art?

I've been having problems with my 5 mega pixel digital camera. It auto focuses way to much and I can't get really get a decent quality image half the time. If I try to light the art, it varies in degrees of blurriness but decent color but if I use natural light, the picture comes out better but the color of the art is compromised. Using flash is just horrible. it washes out the color and leaves light on the surface of the art that you can't get rid of

Anyways what do you all use to capture an image of your art? I'm on the look out for tips/tricks or a decent camera that I may consider purchasing

I also have that same problem, a lot of glare...side lighting without the flash. Sometimes I'll edit the photo on the computer.

Many goofed up photos can be rescued with photo editing software. There are many affordable ones out there that are easy to use. You can also often find them online with free trails. You might do that before purchasing to see if it gives you the results you need.

You should go to a camera store that will let you test out the camera there. Prices on many good digital cameras have come down in the last couple of years. I use aa sony that takes amazing photos, in natural light. It's auto focus is great, and seldom have problems with it. The flash works great, and I have a night/moon feature for low lights so you can get low light photos, like photos of the moon, campfires, etc.

a good free online program is called Picasa 3. Google it, it works pretty good.
