Guess I'll start with myself...

I'm a 19 year old college freshman living in a small town in northern california. I started drawing around the age of ten with the encouragement of my friends and my grandpa(who is also an artwanted artist) and soon afterwards started taking classes in acrylics and oil painting. Since then I have also studied watercolor, colored pencil, and digital photography, and have played with charcoal, oil pastels, and film photography. With Graphite pencil I am self-taught.

Hi! I like the new stuff on the sight, this group being one of them! I am currently a working 45 year old mom that has always loved to draw, I can remember drawing at 4 years old it's like an escape for me - time disappears. Mostly self taught through books, especially on my portrait drawings. I did take a couple of water color classes in college that I loved. And one required drawing class - which was not worth much. So my parents which are pretty talented, books, and now the internet have been the biggest helps in me growing my talent. Looking forward to seeing everyones work!

Hello Nancy, and the rest of you folks. My name is Charlie, and I go by "Bambootiger". I'm 50, and though I drew some as a teen ager, I have really been studying art for the past 17 years. One of my main interests is perspective. I have worked with Charcoal, watercolor, acrylics, and of course, graphite. I don't use tracing paper, or a projector, because personally I like a math based approach to composing my subjects and drawing them. That way I can exercise a little part of my brain I wouldn't otherwise, since I do deliveries for a living.

Hi my name is Kevin Mccomb I have been always been seen drawing something since I was 8 yrs old and currently finishing school for my Bachelor's degree in Media Arts and Animation. I just found this sight the other day and had to join nothing makes me happier than creatng a piece of artwork. My best work has always come from the pencil so i had to join this group.

Hello all, My name is Chris and I have been drawing for over 30 years, and despite what medium I try my hand at, I always draw from my strengths as a pencil artist.

At the moment I work full-time at one of Ohio's biggest and busiest tattoo shops.

I can honestly say that I rely on my pencils as much as I do my Tattoo machines because I draw non-stop(so it seems sometimes), 7-days a week.

I just wish I had more time in the day to get back to traditional sketch work.

So far I really love the art here in this group, keep up the good work peeps!

AAHHHHH! Pencil ...it doesn't get any better and more basic that the wonderful world of PENCIL. It was my first love...and you know what they say...

I would give up all the colors, all the hoopla, all the paint, if people of the buying public would just appreciate it more.

But I would still draw with pencil even if it didn't pay. Low overhead, LOTS OF ENJOYMENT.

Hi... I'm 33, and only just recently rejoined the art world. Though I did some drawings in my high school days and even afterwards, I eventually gave it up altogether, for reasons I no longer recall. But one early morning this past May I picked up the one tablet I had of drawing paper, a plain ole #2 pencil, and I drew David Archuleta! (He's a singer, in case ya didn't know.) What surprised me most was that somehow my drawing skills improved in the eight years since I'd last picked up my pencil. When I emailed it to my mother, she was shocked, and said that my style was just like my grandmother's work from sixty years ago. Pretty wild, huh? Anyway, I am self-taught, and I love graphite pencil the best to work with, but I do hope to someday conquer color pencils, and maybe even paints... Someday. ;-)
