Marina was born in Moscow City, where she is still living and working today as a professional illustrator. She describes her art as "full of kindness and witty humor".

Marina was classically trained as a watercolourist, she loves adding minute details such as the knit on a woollen scarf or a fluttering butterfly over head.

She is inspired by the puppeteers who make their own dolls and perform locally to her- many of whom are her friends, she, like them, likes to bring her creations to life.
