Artist Bio

Born: Quincy, Ma., US. I have been painting since 1948. I have painted approx. 100 ships and many more of other marine subject matter. Five one-woman shows in U.S. and Canada. Provincial Art Bank of PEI, local galleries, private commissions. Currently taking commissions to paint private sailing boats. I am probably the only woman ship-painter in the world. I enjoy the intricate rigging and water activity against the hull and bow of the ship. I also have taken time-out to paint Mermaids. I enjoy the fun of imaginary mermaid ladies doing various activities. I see the ocean every day and its many moods. It inspires me. Painting in oil gives me the swish and feel of water and spray. You may see my brush move on a series of videos and other work on
