A New York toy story. Travelling to New York earlier this year, Stuart met up with the Kidrobot, designers of cool toy collectables, and added another (third!) dimension to his work. Tristan Eaton, creative director of both Kidrobot and Thunderdog studios was only too happy to wax lyrical on their meeting:
"Stuart Harrison is a cartoon visionary. He's personally one of the most influential artists I've encountered...as a teenager I met 'Stu' and was blown away by his complex world of bizarre characters and fantastic creations. His unique approach to color and characterization make him a goldmine for the luscious aesthetic so thirsted for in our modern culture.
Stu will soon be a great addition to the world of 'Designer Action Figures' with his own 'Dunny Figures' in development as well as his own original concepts (top secretly) in the works...
It's an honor to work with him & the result of our collaboration should be stunning."
Following the trip to the US, Stuart then gained representation with one of the most prestigious agents in Europe, Artbox and will also soon be represented in Japan. In Early January 2005 he was signed up by The Collective illustration agency in the UK, a new organisation with an impressive team of respected talent already on its books.
Stay tuned for the next thrilling installment of Stus cold lampin cartoon capers!
