I am a Fine Art major and muralist, specializing in Photo-Realism since the 1970's. Additionally, I am a computer graphics major. My love of art and drawing began at age five when I would pour over my mother's art books. My grandfather was a sculptor, and my mother an oil painter. I began drawing at that age... using complex classical perspective and geometric shapes without any instruction. During my primary and high school years I was selected for "gifted students" art lessons by the city of San Diego three times in city wide contests. My artwork was sent to an exhibit in Yokohama, Japan at age 8, selected for the cover of a San Diego educational magazine at age 17, and exhibited in the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park at age 18. At age 21 I completed a three dimensional mural of a barn scene, complete with genuine coastal weathered barn wood ( I did the carpentry work and installed it myself) with authentic hinged barn doors that opened up to scenic murals beneath. This mural was located in the Oakland Hills of California in a private residence. It was 20' wide and 17' high. At age 23 I completed a mural in another private residence located across from the Ritz Carlton, in Laguna Niguel, California, which was 8' high by 20' long. It was an ocean scene. After it's completion I took a 20 year break in my formal art career to be a full-time mother, which I enjoyed very much. During that time, I focused on illustrating a children's book and doing portraits when I had spare time. Additionally, I was under exclusive contract with authors of spiritual self-help books as their illustrator. In time, I was able to resume my art education in Fine Arts. I was selected for my colleges' gallery art shows and I recieved the prestigious Circle of Honor Award twice. This year (2006) I've opened an art studio in the beautiful rolling hills of the Northern California's wine county called Mariana Vineyard Art Studio. I am happy to say I have resumed my greatest joy; painting and fine art photography! Thanks for taking a look at my art work.
