Heather began painting in 1988, and until recently, the only formal training she had received were high school art classes. Largely self-taught, Heather has continued painting through the years, evolving her own unique style. She is now self - published and continues to provide commissioned artwork and donate work to local charity auctions.
In 2004, Heather enrolled in the Art Institute of Pittsburgs online degree program. She continues to work towards her Bachelor of Science in Game Art and Design, where she is learning the in's and out's of 3d computer animation, texturing and level design. While attending school, Heather has continued to work full time as well as raise her family, all the while maintaining a GPA of 3.7. Attending an online school requires an extra amount of dedication and perseverance, both of which she has shown and exceeded.
Heather's traditional background in photo-realism adds an extra quality to her work. With an extraordinary eye for detail, she is able to pick up on the small things that add that extra special 'something' to her projects; be it an oil painting, drawing, animation or digital art. Additionally, her passion for animals and love of dance has heightened her awareness of anatomy and movement, in both biped and quadruped creatures. Able to work well under pressure and time constraints, Heather's ability to quickly find creative solutions only makes her that much more of an asset to today's high paced creative world.
