Artist Bio

Freelance artist since 1994, previously taught Sheetmetal work and welding in a state trade school for 20 years. Studied art in a Government school of Art from 1967-72. Lived in U.K. from ’72 - ’74. Travelled extensively and exhibited my works of art (surreal, prismatic paintings, sculptures and installations ) in Malta and Abroad (Germany, Australia, China , Hong Kong ). Since early ’80 I have been working with recycled materials (from plastic water bottles, sacks, cable wooden reels and scrap metal ). Worked projects with school children, one creating a 6 metre eco Christmas Tree in a public area from about 5000 plastic bottles. The bottles were collected by the students from their families to make them conscious about the environment. If he had to summarize what truly inspired me, most definitely they would be my personal dreams, which come to me very vividly and the subjects are of a very interesting and unusual nature. This might be the result of reading historical, mythical, occult and science-fiction books. Once the painting has been formed and set up in my mind, I use my knowledge from reading and imagination to further enhance laying out the dreams on canvas.
