At the age of 8 I began this long journey into the arts. Starting then, using only a scroll saw, a couple of family-designed patterns and my imagination, I started working with my family in their fledgling craft business. Through my teen years, I spent most of my time in my room drawing and painting. After a couple of commissions, I knew what I was going to do with my life. Then...something happened...I tried to forsake my art for the greater 'good' of money. I joined the Air Force. This was a dismal failure on my part, because my mind doesn't work on the same level as a normal military mans. After many small problems, and a lot of rebellion, Uncle Sam and I parted ways. It didn't work. I went to college to become a computer programmer.....too technical, not enough of a creative outlet for me. So I became a 'hippie'. But too many people were afraid of a hippie with horns and a top hat running around telling people insane stories of death and dismemberment. Well...that didn't work either. After moving to Florida with my family, I finally realized I needed to be myself. I resumed my art, spending time developing a unique style that would better show viewers a glimpse of what I see in this wonderful, crazy world. During this time I also began working with Photoshop. While living in Sarasota, I gained a bitter distaste for all things 'Florida', and I knew I needed to get to my true home. After 8 long bitter years, with some fun thrown in for giggles (Thanks Zoƫ), I moved to New Orleans. Ahhh...the bitter depression I had been fighting for years finally subsides. The dark history of my true home comforts me like a warm blanket, and I am comforted. Although I have not publicly exhibited my art for almost 15 years, except for a couple of months at my mothers gallery in Venice, I spend most of my evenings working on new pieces to rebuild my portfolio. We'll see what the future holds.
