I am a Fine Art Plein-Air and Still Life painter, I am continually challenged and inspired by the everyday life around me. I work in oil, gouache, watercolor, pencil, ink and collage, which serves my different moods. I practice observing, whether I’m painting outside or arranging a still life in my studio. Plein-Air painting is the most challenging, trying to capture the light, and dealing with the unpredictability of the outdoors. I have had many surprises, like being surrounded by pigeons to sudden shifts in weather, it is always fun. It is my belief that everyone should have the opportunity to own a piece of original art and so I have started a project called The SLC Fine Art Seek and Find which allows me to give back to the community. It is through creating which is an act of love that I hope to help in the act of healing. You can follow me on instagram: julieanne_hallart to participate in the monthly Seek and Find. All my art is a single original piece and I do not make prints. In contrast, my studio work gives me a sense of control and relaxation. There is a balance in the contrast between the quiet indoor scenes and the spontaneous outside. Whether inside or out, my goal is the same: to capture the essence of a moment and to try to see something new. I hope you enjoy viewing my work. Thank you, Julieanne Hall
