Self Portrait

I began designing jewelry on a whim several years ago. Frustrated with not being able to find a certain style necklace I decided I would buy the beads and make it myself. When strangers stopped me to compliment my creation a monster was born! I bought books and magazines on jewelry design and slowly taught myself. From the basics to more complicated techniques I eventually got to the point where I felt confident that I could sell my work. And my hobby was becoming expensive so I needed some extra income to feed the beast!

I started by selling at art festivals. I very much enjoyed meeting new people and studied their reactions to my work. This craft is one that is always evolving and input from impartial observers is invaluable! I next approached some boutiques and started selling pieces on consignment. My best experience by far has been my involvement with the Tampa Artists Emporium. My sales are brisk and the community of people who work and sell their talent their are exceptional.
