Sketch for Watercolor The Glorious Journey

This was the original rough sketch proof for my client before proceeding with the actual detailed drawing for the finished painting you see next in this portfolio called, "The Glorious Journey". It all started with a piece of border wallpaper and an idea that blossomed into a work of art. It took a year to complete, but what a wonderful experience as well as interesting study of the historical model, now a tourist attraction in California, known as Old 45. www.hislambsonline.org

This is an impressive sketch. The final watercolor is wonderful, but this has power and impact all its own. I think you could sell prints of this to the gift shop at the Old 45 tourist attraction. Would like to see it on parchment or sepia toned paper. Well done.

Artist Reply: Thanks Mike for your wonderfully encouragaing words. I so appreciate it. Sorry for the delay in responding. I thought I had sent a reply and I only now see that I missed you entirely! I so enjoyed doing this sketch and the challenge it brought. It would be fun to see it at the Old 45 gift shop for sure. :>)
