My wife convinced me to do an alternate version of the first issue cover, one in which the body of water Okto is swimming in is completely rendered. I didn't want to do a standard digital overlay, so I took a more painterly approach. As I do this book, I will have many opportunities to render water digitally--and I want to find an approach that works best for me and my characters. I'm def. looking forward to refining the technique...:)
