I disagree strongly with leigh walters - I feel this image is all about a strong contrast that is inherent in all life. To layer (which I don't believe is possible in the software the artist uses) would destroy the simple power this represents so well. I believe this to be a super-wide angle view of a world few are so capable of understanding.
