A Poinsettia For Mom

Like many Seniors, my Mom has been downsizing in her home. She opted not to put up the usual Christmas decorations this year, but as the Holidays approached, she began to wish she had a few more items.
I did this pointsetta for her and framed it in a way that would make it fit her decor all year long.
Like most Moms, she loves it and has friends over to show it off. (blush blush)
Medium: colored pencil
(The image below is a digital approximation of the framing). Please pardon the photo's blur, I need a camera which compensates :)

Very beautiful work, Becky.. a splendid present to your mom.. the idea is magnificent. About taking photos of artworks. I think more then the camera, you have to do it in the right conditions of lighting.. when you have not photography studio :-).. Personally I take artworks photos outside, not in very HOT Sun of middle morning.. i prefer early morning or afternoon (summer) at winter it depends , but i do it always outside.. you must see that there are no shades at your work, and the light is coming as equal as possible all sides.. I take many many photos, post the best. I happened to me, that i took photos of ann artwork one day and, had to take again the da after. THe focus is very important, i don't breath while i take art shots. About cameras, you can buy a very simply canon, nowdays 10 MegaPixels which will give you excellent results, very cheap. Love your work.. splendid decor to your mom's home.. HUGS.. Nira
