The Champion

This mural showing the father of the great champion race horse Secretariat and Secretariat as a colt. The wall mural is to give the idea of the father(Bold Ruler) talking to young Secretariat about his future. The owner and the home where the mural is located is in Kansas City, Missouri in the Brookside neighborhood. Bees circle his little head in anticipation of the triple crown Secretariat was to win in the future!

Beautiful mural, Vincent! Please excuse my ignorance if this is a dumb question but I am curious about the type of paint that would be used on a job like this. Presumably, it is painted on plaster or plasterboard wall. Would you use standard acrylic, water based, interior paint or oil?

Artist Reply: Thank you John! I use acrylic out of a tube of jar. Some earlier murals I have done were enamel oil based paints thinned down but only on new construction due to fumes.
