Highpoint!!

Not far past our lunch rock, the trail gets steeper and eventually comes to the "highpoint" of this mountain. The entire top consists of rock with a number of ledges in various shapes. Our daughter has always wanted to take a hang-glider from here to the parking lot below...the quick way back. Something of interest in the 2 photos is that looking to the northwest, you can see NOTHING!! The clouds are thick and it looks as if you could step off into an abyss. In EVERY other direction, you can see for 100 miles. It always amazes me that either side of a single ridge can be so different. Thanks again for viewing!!!!! Tomorrow....the hard way back and an interesting shoreline.... :-)

Totally mesmerizing, Mary!!! I remember heights and dense fog in the upper regions of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Scary to 'drive through' also!
