Artist Reply: Thanks for your compliments. Painting with ceramic glaze is very tricky because you paint from depth to height, as opposed to back to front like other media. You have to memorize what the glazes look like when they are fired because they look like colored chalk until then. Plus each color has its own opaque or transparent qualities, and you have to put each color down from 3 to 5 times, each time exactly the same. Tricky at best.
