Old Panama Dig

Sharon De Vore Gonzalez's Facebook profile Archeologists come from all over the world to help dig out Old Panama. When I was a child and played amongst the ruins the known area was small. Today Old Panama stretches for miles and the town had a wealthy inner structure with the workers living further away from the main area. We always thought there was only the one cathedral, right next to which you see archeologists working, but there were an amazing number of cathedrals in Old Panama. I do not remember how many, but I am thinking over 100. Which gives you an idea just how large this civilization was before pirate Henry Morgan pillaged and burned it. Also they now know what old Panama looked like all those hundreds of years ago. And how the people spent their days. Very amazing to me. We had many picnics here and played many many times amongst the ruins and dreamed of how it used to be there. Now I know and no longer have to dream. I hope you enjoy.
