Grandma's Rocker

A beautiful old rocker that had just been put out. The owner thought I was a bit off... I love it, myself. Brookside, MO 2008 Copyright Brian Turner

Another one I would have carted home! You must have a thing for Chairs, Brian!

And this one for sure! I need a bigger home for all these that you find!

Artist Reply: Yes.. this one I actually met the owner as he had just put it out. He himself hoped that someone would pick it up & recover it. I had no way to get it anywhere. It was huge... I took a swatch from the back. I actually cut the fabric from pieces I really like & then incorporate the fabric into the mat & frame. I have a few of those "one of a kind" pieces.

nice shot; and altogether a nice theme to explore! Have you neard of Wm Least heat Moon's Journey of the Red couch book? --Red Couch: A Portrait of America by Williiam Least Heat Moon and Kevin Clarke and Horst Wackerbart

Artist Reply: Hi Diana. Thx so much. -Yes, a friend told me about that book & I have looked through a copy but that's not what inspired my "curb" shots. I had been shooting furniture by the curb long before I knew of the Red Couch book. I have so much on film but am concentrating on my digital images now. I shot 2 more great ones today, winding through town & need to get them worked up. I do have some ideas on using a model for my shots but have to find the right lady to pull it off. I will keep you posted. Thx again for the kind words. I need to start pricing!
