Artist Reply: thank you..I paint it with a special paste. there is finest metaldust in there..when the paste is dry, I you use different concentrations of oxidationliquid. so emerge different shades of rust. and it´s real rust. the rust is not rubbed into the canvas. you have to prime the canvas before using the metal paste (or use modelling paste)..
