After giving one of my artist proofs to my parents as a gift in 2006, I was asked by my mother if the face I painted into the painting was that of my father? Although it was not my concious intention, there is an uncanny resemblance to him, that is recognized by anyone that knew him. In retrospect, it is apparent that many of the faces, in many of my paintings have the features and strong facial structure of my father. Since I paint mostly from my imagination, it makes perfect sense that I would draw upon my memories of the people and things that have made a positive impression in my life. It is in his memory that I dedicate this image to him.......He passed peacefully but suddenly away on Dec.22, 2008, just 12 days after the passing of my wife Jo-Anne's father.
