Belted Kingfisher

These little ones are extremely elusive as far as my experiences have gone with them. Now,after about seven years of looking,I've finally found where there's a nest and I'm hoping that there will be more opportunities to photograph these beautiful creatures. This one was preening on the rigging of a salmon troller near Steveston,British Columbia.
