Mom

This was the last art I did. The reason it was the last is because I had tried to draw it and failed miserably so because My wife wanted it so badly I did this which she told me later She would rather have one like I did of her brother and dad. They were done in black carbon pencil lead I have this one thing and that is not very good I tried to fix a photo by making an 11 by 17 print and using the Derwent watercolor pencil and the Prismacolor regular colored pencils to fix a very dark underexposed photo. The eyes could not even be seen. It was somewhat successful as you can see. It is framed however because I did it on copy paper the water wrinkled the paper. You can see the eyes are now seen and the darkness that obscured the facial details are clearly fixed and she does look like my wife's mom once more, however I was never satisfied with it because I am too much of a perfectionist. This is a mix of prismacolor pencils and watercolor pencil over a very poor Light print as you can see it does work. This was actually the last art thing I ever did. You may see improper colors which only prove I am color blind. Things often turn out too green according to my friends. This was no exception.. The alternative was not to have a portrait. That would just not do she had died eight years before.

I love the feel of this portrait...maybe printing it on watercolor paper and then coloring it would be easier.
