My imagination of a cyborg is a androgynous, fragile and very skinny girl. In order to let her skin appear pale, I let it just white and only coloured the shadow parts with pinkish and beige pastel chalk. With her ice-blue hair and the absent-minded expression she seems distantly and lost in reverie.
"50 MANGA BABES to draw and paint" is an English How-to-draw book displaying fifty artworks of different women in manga style together with step-by-step illustrations, detailed descriptions and drawing tips.
I had the wonderful commission to draw fifteen of this "babes" (see the right column). I had to comply with this criteria: drawn in manga style, female chara, view of the whole body, related to a topic/character type, no background.
This book is great and I can recommend it to all learning to draw in manga style. It's available at Amazon.

This I love. It has a lovely shoujo element to it and has a very retro style, whilst still looking quite modern. The cybernetic parts showing through remind me also of a piece from an early Battle Angel Alita, and have a nice amount of detail. Her hair is gorgeous and although it probably has little to do with the character, the little swirly bits in the background add a touch of style. Love it!Leah Jaarveth 16 Sep 2008
