Green Faerie

A lovely, sassy faerie dressed in green is relaxing in an unladylike pose and combing the grass with her bare feet. She looks indignant as if the viewer has interrupted her from her private reveries. Big butterfly wings stretch behind her. The fragrant flowers and pretty trees are painted in the Impressionist style. Perhaps if you had some chocolate bonbons, she would agree to scoot aside and make room for you. I painted this faerie originally without a background in Painter and I decided that she needed to be in an environment. My background painting has always been weak, so after reading an Imagine FX article on custom brushes in Photoshop, I tried to tackle this problem. I've always been confused about defining brushes, so I experimented with this technique. The result is something that looks a little more impressionistic than actual matte painting.

Fantastic piece, I would say the background is strong, great depth and color, the foreground flower work is awsome, and the fairy is great too.
