A bigger version of the pen drawing, Acrylics on canvas, 20x24 inch Often a story is pulled into the web of my work, and such is the case with the painting ˜The Singing of the Sirens”. It is the expression of a chapter from a Greek legend in Homer´s Odyssey 800 BC, Chapter 12. It portrays the moment when Ulysses passes through the dangerous, bewitching, singing of the half-woman, half-bird Sirens. Bound to the mast, he can safely listen without succumbing to their delightful calls, which could spell doom for his ship and crew.
