Sometimes it seems to me that almost nothing dies peacefully in nature. You can almost see this poor thing's little eyes bulging out as it takes it's last breath. The natural world is filled with such dramatic events. I find this photograph to be a little disturbing but such is the way of nature. I'm a bit unhappy with the quality of the image focus but there was quite a bit of movement happening here in this situation. I've recently begun to notice that most sea birds have a lens-like covering that protects their eyes whenever they are in the process of eating or struggling with prey.
