this was done from a photo referance by pat abbott named 'hope in profile'. she very graciously allowed me to use her photo. it makes my efforts to produce a fine detailed piece so much easier when i have such incredible photos to work from. thanks pat. the original scratchboard is approx. 11"x12". the yellowing in the background isn't there in the original but showed up when i was editing and i couldn't get rid of it without losing colour and detail in the image. it's a white background. i've been experimenting with different mediums to add some subtle colouring to my images and used a combination of chalks and watercoloured pencils for this one. you can find pats' port folio on AW.
