Grass snake

I took this shot yesterday in Hartsholme park.there were three snakes when i saw them but two of them soon slithered away, while this chap seemed quite interested in me. I used my canon 10d and sigma 75-300mm.

Ok, I confess, I like snakes. His coloring is unique and he's very pretty! Hope he wasn't venomous!

He was guarding those delicious Bolete mushrooms, Patrick. I sure wish I had been there...snake or no...I would have taken me home a wonderful meal. All in all, a gorgeous shot.

Artist Reply: Thanks for your kind comment, I'm not a fan of snakes myself,but when i saw this little fella i had to take the shot,luckily he's only a grass snake and they don't have any venom and they don't bite either.thanks again.
