Urban Legends: Black Shuck Sentry in Cemetary

Urban Legends speak often of the dark arrival and dreaded spectral hell hound, Old Shuck. In fact, He is assumed to be a death omen, since to encounter Shuck is to be a warning that the person who encounters him will pass away soon. In the state of Connecticutt, town of Meriden, there is a similar tale of the Dread dog of Meriden; to see him once, is to be good luck, however to see him a second time is to herald a warning of doomed luck to come about, and to see him a third time means you will die relatively soon. Of course, these are presented as "Urban legends." This image was actually inspired by reading the worldwide ghostly tales (and factual cases) told for most all states at http://www.theshadowlands.net/places a great site! image is penciled, then pen and inked, and completed in colored pencil. (left unmatted.) Part of my Urban Legends series. dates and artist name on all works. (8 1/2" x 10" 20# all purpose white paper).
