Although I have painted on large wallspace, this is the largest canvas ever for me, so I needed a lot of imagery to minimize negative space without detracting from the concept of showing people blended with their animal spirits. A druid theme ties all the elements together. Trying to reach in and bring forth the imagery and paint only when I knew I had it, required 3 years to finish the painting after formally starting it. "Wolf, Owl, Lion" is my first commissioned painting. Advice: when someone seeks you out and asks, 'can you paint me as a...?' think hard before enthusiastically claiming, 'Sure!'
