Strange paradox... If some arabian burns a flag it is a political statement. Then on the other hand, the proper way to retire a worn out flag apparently is to burn it. I´m not going to suggest for the US government to send the worn out flags down to the Mid East :-)

Artist Reply: This was a flag retirement ceremony in Ky. Have you ever wondered what happens to all the flags that get owrn out and replaced. The ones over businesses etc...well the proper to "retire the falg" is to have a service and then burn it. This was a mass of about 300 flags from actoss the United States. They performed a service and then at the end of the service a prayer is said and the flags are lit. It was very interesting. This was done by The American Legion Post " GI Joe Post " in Louisville, Ky. Thaks for asking.
