I would like to share a series of photos taken on Nov. 4, 2004. When someone asks me the definition of "The Perfect Day" in the mountains, this hike with our wonderful daughter is always the first to come to mind. She's in Denver now and my husband is my designated hiking partner. After 6 miles of fairly rough logging road, the trail to Summit Lake is 2 miles and another mile if you go around it. On this day there was no snow at the beginning of the logging road, but as we gained elevation, boy did we find some. When we left that morning, we didn't think we'd need snowshoes.... :) Come with us on "The Perfect Day" in the mountains!!! :)
