Symphonia is applied by Praetorius to an instrument, which he classed with the clavichord, spinet, regal (a small harpsichord, popular in the 18th century, that has the strings set at a slant to the keyboard) and virginal (a smaller, often legless, oblong version of the harpsichord, popular in the 16th and 17th century), but without giving any clue to its distinctive characteristics.
was the name of a distinguished family, or possibly two families of musicians in Germany in the 16th and 17th centuries.

olgar it is very interesting looking at all your paintings you have so many different styles. its a nice hobby for you. my favourits are definatly the flowers. i will brows your site again one day. this one is unusual not something i would want on the wall. a bit of a muddle. well must go olgar love rose
