wierdly cool, like grass and metal sky

Artist Reply: I see what you mean, radfax: this particular medium [ encaustic wax ] does give some very unusual results; mind you, the actual flower is very strange; they grow in profusion on a shingle beach on Northern Cyprus; I have never seen them anywhere else. :) Gwen.

gwen, i hope you don't take this the wron way but when i 1st saw your work i thought you to be a much younger person with a free spirit willing to let the creative juices take you where they would. it's absolutely WONDERFUL to see a woman of, shall we say , mature biological age, holds an ageless spirit within. this piece is just beautful. it looks like hand blown glass in the forefront and molton poured glass in the background. the colours are intense and fresh and fluid. just incredibly beautiful.

Artist Reply: Thank you so much Sheila, how could I possibly take this as other than a glowing complimen? I appreciate every word: this is a quite wonderful medium to work in, but then I find that each and every medium has it's own particular pleasure. :) Gwen
