Here is my half of the arttrade Cori. This is my arttrade with Cori E. R. Trout. This is his horse character, Compass. Personally I think this picture looks terrible and I could have done a whole lot better than this but this was my first time using colored pencils. (Shrugs) Sorry it took so long. I did not forget. I blame the dang scanner for not working! ^__^

It's actually quite good for a first attempt with colored pencils, especially since you're experimenting with colored paper (I assume pastel paper as well, which can be infuriating with its texture!). One of the keys to working with colored pencils is layering (I've also noticed that this tends to be a trend with most other artistic media as well!). Start light and gradually work towards your darkest colors. I'm glad to finally see the finished piece! Hehe, if you think that's bad, you should see some of my first attempts with colored pencils, they are quite horrendous, trust me. Keep in mind that you often have to make bad art first before you can make the good! Don't be afraid of your mistakes, learn from them.
