Photo Finish

Shoemaker and McCarron in a photo finish in 1987. Both jockeys thought the other had won. It was a great story with a great photo that drove me to my canvas. PRINTS only

Artist Reply: It was lots of fun to paint also. As racing fans we are never allowed this close to the winners, but the journalists have special priviledges. I painted this from one of their photos from the Breeders Cup - the road to the Derby.
